In the wake of the devastating pipeline fire in Putra Heights on April 1, 2025, Carro is stepping up to support affected residents by loaning out at least 30 vehicles. This initiative aims to restore mobility and ease disruptions for those struggling to regain normalcy after the disaster.

Carro Malaysia CEO Derrick Eng expressed his concern over the impact of the fire, particularly during the festive season. “It’s disheartening to witness the extent of damage and its effect on the residents. We also extend our wishes for a swift recovery to those injured. We hope that by providing these cars, we can help some families gradually return to their routines and minimize further hardships,” he stated.

The vehicle loan program is part of a broader relief effort, coordinated in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, led by YB Anthony Loke, and the Selangor State Exco for Investment, Trade, and Mobility, YB Ng Sze Han. Local authorities are also involved in ensuring a smooth distribution process.

According to YB Ng Sze Han, applications for the temporary vehicles will be managed through his office on a first-come, first-served basis. This measure ensures fair access to those in urgent need of transportation.

Carro’s initiative underscores the importance of community support in times of crisis, highlighting how businesses can play a vital role in disaster relief efforts. Through such acts of kindness, affected residents can find some stability as they rebuild their lives.
