Volvo Car Malaysia is set to excite SUV enthusiasts with the arrival of two highly anticipated models—the all-electric Volvo EX90 and the newly refreshed Volvo XC90. These flagship seven-seaters will soon be available for local purchase, with launch details to be announced on Volvo’s official website.

First unveiled in 2022, the Volvo EX90 represents a major leap forward in safety and technology. Designed to be the safest Volvo ever built, it integrates advanced active safety features both inside and out. As the brand’s most technologically advanced vehicle, the EX90 is engineered not only to reduce the risk of accidents but to prevent them altogether.

Marking several firsts for Volvo, the EX90 is the company’s first SUV to incorporate lidar technology, its first to utilize the cutting-edge Superset core computing system, and the first to be built with hardware designed for future autonomous driving capabilities. Global deliveries of the EX90 began in late 2024, and Malaysia will be among the first Asia-Pacific markets to welcome the new model following its launch in Thailand.

Meanwhile, the latest Volvo XC90 has been redefined for the modern electric era. Originally introduced as Malaysia’s first locally assembled plug-in hybrid SUV in 2016, the XC90 continues to be an industry icon, offering a blend of electrified performance with the practicality of a backup power source.

Both flagship SUVs promise exceptional range, practicality, and Volvo’s signature safety for families, regardless of their electrification needs. The EX90 further strengthens Volvo’s all-electric lineup, joining models such as the EX30, XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, and EC40 (formerly the C40 Recharge Pure Electric).

Chris Wailes, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, stated, “Whether you’re looking for the best safety technology in a fully electric vehicle or seeking to upgrade to the latest version of our award-winning SUV, we have a ‘90’ flagship model designed to fit your lifestyle.”
