Viper Niza Racing Team is gearing up for one of its most challenging seasons yet as it prepares to tackle a grueling 7-round endurance schedule in 2025. The team will kick off the season at the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang, held at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit this weekend.

Leading the charge is Team Principal and driver Douglas Khoo, who will be behind the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG GT3 alongside teammates Dominic Ang and Melvin Moh. The trio is set to compete in two Asian endurance races and five European events, marking a significant commitment to long-distance racing.

The 12 Hours of Sepang, running from March 14-15, will set the tone for Viper Niza Racing’s 2025 campaign. Success in this race is crucial, as the team will immediately transition to the 12 Hours of Mugello in Italy the following weekend, covering a staggering distance of 9,785 kilometers.

With almost back-to-back races on the calendar, the team will then focus on the 12 Hours of Spa Francorchamps in Belgium from April 18-20, followed by the 12 Hours of Misano in Italy from May 23-24. After a month-long break, they will head to France for the 12 Hours of Paul Ricard from July 3-5. The European tour will wrap up with the 24 Hours of Barcelona from September 26-28, before the team returns to Asia for the Shanghai 8 Hours in October.

Reflecting on the team’s endurance racing journey, Khoo emphasized the importance of physical fitness, strategic decision-making, and seamless teamwork. “Endurance racing is where Viper Niza Racing truly shines. We’ve seen significant success in these long-distance events, and our goal is to keep developing our potential,” said Khoo, who is also a two-time TSS The Super Series Supercar GT3 amateur champion in Thailand.

Viper Niza Racing has an impressive track record in endurance racing. In 2024, they finished 6th overall at the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang, claiming a class win, while in 2023, they secured 10th place overall. At the Shanghai 8 Hours last year, the team took 5th place overall and 3rd in the ProAm class. They also clinched victory at the 2019 TCR SPA500 24-Hour endurance race and earned a 6th place finish in the TCR Class at the 2022 Hankook 24 Hours of Barcelona.

Khoo considers the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang particularly special as it serves as the team’s home race, both as an all-Malaysian squad and due to their longstanding partnership with Motul. “It’s always a tough race with unpredictable weather and strong competition, but we take pride in representing Malaysia on home soil,” he remarked.

For 2025, Viper Niza Racing continues to enjoy the unwavering support of Motul, alongside partnerships with Endless, Momentum Autoparts, IWC as the Official Watch Brand, and Jen Orchard Gateway Hotel in Singapore.
