Proton recently premiered the latest edition of its Hari Raya short film series during a special buka puasa event. The 2025 installment, produced in collaboration with Elite Definition Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Little Joe Air Freshener in Malaysia, continues the tradition of celebrating festive values while highlighting the brand’s innovation.
This year’s film centers on the Proton e.MAS 7, Proton’s new C-segment electric vehicle (EV), which has already become Malaysia’s best-selling EV model for the first two months of the year. The film, lasting nearly 27 minutes, beautifully intertwines traditional Hari Raya themes of family, forgiveness, and communication. Directed by Pekin Ibrahim, the heartfelt story features popular Malaysian actors Que Haidar, Azwan Ali, and Fatimah Abu Bakar, delivering a powerful message of unity and connection.
Reflecting on the success of last year’s short film, which garnered 5.2 million views across social media platforms, Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating once again with Little Joe. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership, sharing life lessons rooted in traditional Hari Raya values while also showcasing our latest EV innovation, the Proton e.MAS 7,” he said.
Coinciding with the film’s premiere, Proton also announced the Proton Recruitment Drive 2025, set to run from April to July 2024. The initiative aims to fill up to 732 job vacancies across PROTON’s dealership network nationwide, encompassing roles in sales, after-sales services, marketing, and general management.
The recruitment drive reflects Proton’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s automotive sector by attracting passionate individuals eager to build careers in a dynamic, technology-driven industry. To maximize reach, Proton will launch targeted advertising campaigns on popular job portals, strategically segmented by region.
Furthermore, the company has forged partnerships with key institutions, including the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and the Proton Institute, in collaboration with the Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC). These collaborations are designed to equip job seekers with the necessary skills to thrive in the ever-evolving automotive landscape.
During his address, Roslan Abdullah emphasized the importance of manpower development in fostering economic growth. “As the national automotive brand, Proton is committed to creating employment opportunities for Malaysians. The automotive industry is rapidly transforming due to technological advancements, and this presents a unique chance to build a rewarding career in the sector,” he stated.
Through the Proton Recruitment Drive 2025, the company aims to not only address critical staffing needs but also contribute to the nation’s economic competitiveness by nurturing a skilled and resilient workforce.
With the launch of the new short film and the recruitment initiative, Proton continues to demonstrate its commitment to both community values and sustainable economic growth.
