Perodua has taken a significant step forward in digital transformation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with My Digital ID Sdn Bhd (MyDigital ID). This collaboration aims to secure user authentication access as the compact car manufacturer enhances its journey toward cashless transactions.

MyDigital ID is a cutting-edge National Digital Identity initiative developed to empower Malaysians with seamless and secure access to both government and private digital services. By emphasizing security and privacy, MyDigital ID sets a new standard for trust and protection in the fast-evolving mobility landscape.

According to Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, this partnership marks a first for Malaysia’s automotive industry. “This collaboration is the first of its kind for the country’s automotive sector. MyDigital ID, as the nation’s gatekeeper for authentication transactions, allows us to diversify our services, not only to our customers but to all Malaysians,” he stated.

He further emphasized that the authentication process serves as a secure foundation to protect users, with cybersecurity experts leading the effort. Over the past six months, Perodua has forged strategic partnerships with several Malaysian bodies, including PETRONAS, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, and Telekom Malaysia Bhd, to enhance the overall Malaysian experience.

“These collaborations will offer a world of products and services to our future customers while prioritizing their safety. Moreover, we fully support the government’s push for a cashless society, leveraging MyDigital ID’s robust cybersecurity features for added convenience,” Dato’ Sri Zainal said.

Echoing the importance of this partnership, Mohd Azuddin Parman, Chief Operating Officer of MyDigital ID, noted that this collaboration underscores the vital role of digital identity in driving digital transformation within the automotive sector. “The key is to ensure trusted digital identity verification while making digital interactions safer and more convenient. This empowers industries like automotive to offer secure and user-friendly experiences for every customer while advancing Malaysia’s digital economy,” he said.
