Michelin has introduced the MICHELIN Primacy 5, a tire designed for passenger cars and crossovers of all engine types, with the tagline “Confidence Made to Last.” This new model, an upgrade from the MICHELIN Primacy 4, offers advanced features that improve performance while reducing environmental impact.
Prichapakorn Dangrojana, Managing Director of Michelin Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, explained: “The MICHELIN Primacy 5 is crafted to meet the evolving needs of modern vehicles, including hybrids and electric cars, which require tires capable of handling higher horsepower and weight. The tire’s design is optimized for durability, fuel efficiency, and consistent wet grip throughout its lifespan.”
He continued, “With the increasing popularity of larger SUVs and electric vehicles in Malaysia, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 provides customers with an optimal balance of safety, comfort, and longevity, making it an ideal choice for everyday journeys.”
Key benefits of the new MICHELIN Primacy 5 include:
- Premium Comfort Drive: A new tread pattern incorporating MICHELIN Silent Rib Gen-3 technology reduces vibrations and noise, resulting in a smoother, quieter, and more comfortable driving experience.
- Excellent Longevity: Offering 24% more mileage than other premium brands, thanks to a 10% increase in void ratio and optimized groove edges, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 delivers longer-lasting performance. MaxTouch technology ensures even distribution of forces, extending tread life without compromising safety.
- Safety on Wet Roads: The tire boasts shorter braking distances—8% shorter when new and 13% shorter when worn—compared to other premium brands, thanks to MICHELIN EverGrip and EverTread Technologies. These innovations optimize water evacuation and improve wet braking performance, enhancing safety in all conditions.
- EV Compatibility: Featuring a high-performance tread compound, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 reduces rolling resistance by 13%, improving energy consumption and extending the battery range of electric vehicles.
In addition to its advanced performance features, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 aligns with Michelin’s “All Sustainable” strategy. With a 5% improvement in rolling resistance and 18% longer lifespan, the tire generates less waste, contributing to a reduced environmental footprint by 6%.
Now available in Malaysia, the MICHELIN Primacy 5 comes in 25 sizes ranging from 16 to 19 inches at Michelin’s authorized tire dealers nationwide. The 18-inch and larger sizes feature enhanced aesthetic sidewalls with full-ring velvet lining.
Pricing for the MICHELIN Primacy 5 starts from RM477 to RM1,026.
