During the holy month of Ramadan, the spirit of giving and community shines brightest. This year, inDrive successfully carried out its Roda Kasih initiative, touching thousands of lives across Malaysia. More than just a food distribution effort, the initiative was a testament to inDrive’s commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and community support.
Through Roda Kasih, inDrive distributed over 10,000 portions of bubur lambuk and kurma across Penang, Johor Bahru, and the Klang Valley. The significance of these meals went beyond nourishment—each bowl symbolized unity, ensuring that no one was left behind during the sacred act of breaking fast.
This initiative also stayed true to inDrive’s core values by supporting local small vendors, ensuring they benefited from the Ramadan rush. By sourcing food from small-scale entrepreneurs, inDrive not only provided freshly prepared meals but also empowered local businesses that rely on the festive season for their livelihoods.
Roda Kasih was not just about distributing meals—it was about fostering connections. inDrive’s driver community played a vital role, with over 30 drivers volunteering their time and effort to personally deliver food and engage with the people they serve daily. Their participation highlighted the deeper role of inDrive drivers—not just as transport providers, but as integral members of the community.
The initiative extended beyond Ramadan bazaars and housing areas, reaching hospitals and B40 communities, ensuring that those in need felt the warmth of the season.
Recognizing that kindness should extend beyond planned initiatives, inDrive also responded to the recent floods in Johor Bahru, which left hundreds displaced. More than 400 flood victims found refuge in temporary relief centers, and inDrive stepped in to distribute essential food and supplies to support them. With many families unable to return home due to severe mud damage, this aid was a crucial lifeline.
The overwhelming response from both the public and inDrive’s drivers reinforced the true spirit of Ramadan—unity, generosity, and community support. Azlan Anwar, Driver Operations Manager at inDrive Malaysia, expressed pride in the initiative’s impact: “Seeing our drivers actively participate in giving back to the community reflects the strong sense of togetherness that Ramadan inspires. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both drivers and the community.”
Through Roda Kasih, inDrive has reaffirmed its mission—not just as a mobility platform but as a force for positive social impact. Whether it’s providing meals during Ramadan, supporting local businesses, or stepping up in times of crisis, inDrive continues to drive change beyond transportation—it’s about people, purpose, and compassion.
