Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford (Auto ConneXion) has earned global recognition for its outstanding commitment to community service, receiving the esteemed ‘Salute to Dealers’ 2025 award from Ford Motor Company. As one of only six dealerships worldwide to receive this honour, Auto ConneXion’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives has been steadfast for over a decade, focusing on education, healthcare, elderly welfare, food security, and environmental sustainability.

Auto ConneXion’s Managing Director, Turse Zuhair, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We are truly honoured to take home the ‘Salute to Dealers’ award. This recognition demonstrates our ongoing efforts to support Malaysian communities and drive positive social change centred on education, public health, well-being, and environmental sustainability.”

Guided by Sime Darby’s core value of care for all, Auto ConneXion continues to implement impactful CSR projects to uplift communities in need. Some of its recent initiatives include the Clean Water Project, the Ford Mobile Clinic, and its collaboration with The Lost Food Project.

Through a partnership with MyFundAction, a Malaysian youth-led non-profit organisation, Auto ConneXion launched the Clean Water Project to address water scarcity in Gerik, Perak. The initiative involved the installation of a sustainable water tank system using advanced boring techniques, ensuring a reliable and clean water supply for approximately 70 Orang Asli families. A team of 30 Auto ConneXion volunteers actively participated in the project, demonstrating their dedication to improving daily lives.

Recognising the urgent need to tackle food insecurity, Auto ConneXion joined hands with The Lost Food Project, with support from Ford Philanthropy. A donation of USD45,000 (approximately RM200,000) helped provide around 855,000 nutritious meals to vulnerable communities. Additionally, 25 volunteers from Auto ConneXion took part in food sorting and preparation at The Lost Food Project’s warehouse, rescuing 3,820kg of food—equivalent to 10,914 meals—before redistribution.

Healthcare accessibility remains a key priority for Auto ConneXion. In collaboration with MyFundAction, Yayasan Sime Darby, and Ford Philanthropy, the company launched a fully equipped Ford Mobile Clinic to serve rural and flood-affected communities. Auto ConneXion and Yayasan Sime Darby donated a Ford Ranger, while Ford Philanthropy contributed USD55,000 (approximately RM250,000) for the clinic’s setup. Equipped with essential medical devices, the clinic is expected to benefit over 2,200 individuals in 2025 by delivering vital healthcare services to remote areas.

Chief Development Officer of MyFundAction, Isma Fildza Hazry, praised Auto ConneXion’s dedication, stating, “Our partnership with Auto ConneXion has been transformational. Through their support, we have been able to support marginalised communities, providing essential resources and fostering hope.”

The ‘Salute to Dealers’ award celebrates Ford’s 25-year tradition of honouring dealers making meaningful contributions to their communities. Auto ConneXion, in collaboration with Ford Philanthropy, continues to champion social responsibility, reinforcing its mission to empower communities through education, healthcare, food security, and sustainable initiatives.
