The Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) Racing Series 2025 is set to ignite the track this weekend, February 16, 2025, at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Fans can expect an adrenaline-packed day of wheel-to-wheel action, highlighted by thrilling changes, new categories, and an upgraded racing experience.
A major shake-up in the MSF SuperTurismo series for four-wheel vehicles comes with the introduction of Giti Tire as the official tyre partner. This Singapore-based tyre powerhouse, with a legacy spanning over 70 years, is bringing its cutting-edge GitiCompete range to the forefront of Malaysian motorsports.
“We at Giti Tire are excited to support MSF Racing as the official tyre partner, introducing our GitiCompete range to Malaysia’s passionate motorsports community,” said Ms. Shiroo Chia, Deputy General Manager, Rest of World Marketing at Giti Tire. “Our focus on performance, safety, and innovation aligns perfectly with MSF’s dynamic racing spirit.”
The GitiCompete GTR2 ultra high-performance tyre and GitiCompete GTR2 Pro semi-slick tyre make their Malaysian debut this season, replacing Hankook tyres after nine years. With minimal data on the new compounds, teams and drivers will face the challenge of adapting their setups to the new tyres, promising intense racing and faster lap times.
One of the most anticipated highlights of 2025 is the MSF Myvi Cup, now a full-season championship category. Featuring 15 entries, this series showcases Perodua Myvi vehicles from all generations with limited modifications. Several past champions are among the drivers, bringing their expertise to this unique competition.
Adian Yein, Director and Principal of MSF Racing, expressed his excitement: “The lovable Perodua Myvi will now gain a reputation as a precision racing machine. This platform could drive Malaysia’s evolution from simply consuming motorsports products to becoming a hub for performance part development.”
The MotoMSF SuperBike series kicks off its 2025 season with a renewed three-year partnership with Pirelli, which supplies its latest Diablo SuperCorsa V4 tyres.
“This continuity with Pirelli highlights our shared commitment to growing the superbike racing scene in Malaysia,” said Mr. Peh Hong Wei, Country Consultant for Pirelli Asia.
Sprint races, each five laps long, promise nail-biting action in the season opener. Star racers include Naomichi Uramoto, Adam Norrodin, Zulfahmi Kamaruddin, and Azlan Syah, setting the stage for a fierce four-way battle.
Adding to the excitement, MSF Racing launches the MSF American V-Twin Cup, featuring motorcycles from iconic brands like Harley-Davidson, Indian, and Victory. This new category taps into the growing popularity of “Bagger” and “Hooligan” racing, already thriving in the U.S. and Thailand. Adian Yein is optimistic: “We hope to replicate this enthusiasm in Malaysia with the creation of this exciting new category.”
Fans unable to attend in person can catch all the action live on MSF Racing’s Facebook and YouTube pages. For those at the circuit, superbike races will run in the morning, followed by the four-wheel events in the afternoon. Paddock access passes are available for RM35, parking is RM10, and entry to the main grandstand is free.
