Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur is gearing up for its third consecutive year, promising an even more spectacular event from August 8–10, 2025, at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC). This year’s event aims to captivate car enthusiasts with double the excitement, expecting to draw 100,000 visitors.

The show will offer a wide array of activities, including stage performances, motoring displays, car club gatherings, celebrity appearances, and much more. As the only licensed Tokyo Auto Salon event outside Japan, it is organized by Element X Strategies in collaboration with San Ei Corporation and the Tokyo Auto Salon Association, staying true to the high standards of its iconic Japanese counterpart.

Element X Strategies CEO Jason Yap highlighted the focus on enhancing visitor experiences, stating, “To sustain and grow interest, we aim to deliver fulfilling experiences while maintaining the same quality and standards showcased in Japan.” He also emphasized the importance of Japanese tuner participation and hopes to attract more exhibitors to the event.

Held from November 8–10, 2024, the previous show welcomed 93,000 visitors from across the region, including Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, China, and Japan. Over 300 top-tier tuned cars were showcased, making the event a resounding success.

Several innovations ensured a smooth experience for attendees, such as a new ticketing system that minimized queues and early-bird online ticket promotions. VIPs enjoyed exclusive Black Tag access, featuring perks like valet parking, limited-edition merchandise, and access to a private lounge with complimentary beverages.

Collaborations brought unique offerings, including limited-edition 1/64 die-cast models created with Inno 64, which sold out quickly. Official merchandise celebrated iconic Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles like the Nissan GT-Rs (R33, R34, R35), Honda Civic Type R, Mitsubishi Evo X, Toyota AE86, and Supra.

A live car auction debuted in 2024, allowing attendees to bid on modified vehicles. The event’s highlight was a grand lucky draw for a Honda Civic FK8R Type R Mugen, valued at over RM300,000. Another giveaway, courtesy of YRN Customs, awarded a modified BMW E36 325i sedan to a lucky winner.

Japanese tuners and exhibitors remained central to the event, with exclusive displays such as:

  • Two Nissan GT-Rs from Top Secret.
  • HKS R35 NEO GT1000+ CONCEPT.
  • KUHL RACING’s wide-bodied R35 GT-R.
  • ARTISAN SPIRITS’ Black Label LC500GT.
  • Veilside FFZ 400.
  • Trust/Greddy RZ34 Pandem Nissan 400Z.
  • Air-bagged Honda NSX.

Expanded floor space accommodated exciting new features, including an auto styling competition, car club gatherings, a racing simulator challenge, an audio competition, and live stage performances.
