PETRONAS AutoExpert and CARSOME Group Inc have announced a strategic collaboration to redefine aftersales service experiences in Malaysia. This partnership underscores the shared vision of both companies to develop a holistic automotive ecosystem that extends beyond car sales into comprehensive aftersales support.
As part of the collaboration, PETRONAS AutoExpert will serve as CARSOME’s Official Panel Workshop. CARSOME will contribute by offering workforce training, internships, and support to bolster the expansion of existing and future service centers. Additionally, CARSOME Academy, the Group’s accredited automotive training institution, will partner with PETRONAS AutoExpert outlets through the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) TVET Apprenticeship Program. This initiative aims to certify technicians to Malaysian Standards while enhancing workforce skills to address industry demands and support sustainable growth.
The partnership will initially roll out services at 15 PETRONAS AutoExpert locations starting January 13, 2025, complementing CARSOME’s current service centers in Ampang and Petaling Jaya. Customers will be able to book services at these outlets via the CARSOME app or website. This approach aims to improve service accessibility, allowing both companies to expand their market reach and explore new service opportunities.
CARSOME will also establish new inspection points at selected PETRONAS AutoExpert locations from January 2025. These inspection points will enable customers to schedule vehicle checks conveniently through CARSOME’s online platforms when a CARSOME inspection center is unavailable nearby. This addition not only enhances customer convenience but also introduces a new revenue stream for PETRONAS AutoExpert operators, enriching their service portfolio.
The strategic partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by Encik Mohd Zameer B Zahur Hussain, CEO of PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PLMM), and Chris Ang, Managing Director of CARSOME Malaysia. The signing ceremony, held at CARSOME’s PJ Automall, was witnessed by key leaders from both organizations.
