iMotorbike recently announced the completion of a $10 million Series A funding round. The round was led by global venture capital firm Headline, known for supporting transformative B2B and B2C ventures. Additional backing came from renowned investors, including Ondine, 500 Global, Gobi Partners, Astor Management, and Endeavor Catalyst.
The Series A round was split into two tranches, with the initial investment in June 2023 and the latest led by Headline. Akihiko Okamoto, Partner at Headline Asia, praised iMotorbike’s achievements, stating, “iMotorbike has shown remarkable vision and execution in addressing gaps in the pre-owned motorcycle market. Their focus on quality, transparency, and customer satisfaction has positioned them as leaders in this growing market. As they prepare to expand into new territories across Southeast Asia, we are excited to support their journey and see them introduce innovative approaches.”
The funding will fuel iMotorbike’s expansion plans, focusing on Malaysia and beyond. The company aims to open inspection centers and showrooms in key Malaysian cities such as Penang and Johor, while also planning its first international branch in Taiwan. To support this growth, iMotorbike plans to hire skilled mechanics and operational staff.
Khailee Ng, Managing Partner of 500 Global, shared his confidence in iMotorbike’s vision, stating, “We first invested in iMotorbike in 2017, and remain confident in the resilience of the global used motorcycle market. Amid economic uncertainties, affordable and reliable solutions remain in demand. Gil and his team have built a blueprint for trust and convenience in the motorcycle marketplace over the last eight years, positioning them to lead this mobility trend far beyond Southeast Asia.”
iMotorbike’s growth has been particularly strong in Malaysia, boosted by the opening of its flagship Glenmarie showroom in Selangor in 2024. The three-story, 46,806-square-foot facility has helped the platform surpass a significant milestone of 10,000 customers, solidifying its reputation as the go-to destination for motorcycle enthusiasts in the region.
The company’s online presence has also flourished, particularly on TikTok, where engaging content has amassed 1.6 million views, attracting a digitally savvy audience. By integrating online and offline experiences, iMotorbike offers a seamless and reliable platform for buying, selling.
