Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has entered into a strategic partnership with Perodua to accelerate advancements in electric vehicle (EV) development, digital transformation, and sustainable practices. This collaboration supports Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), which envisions a competitive and high-value automotive sector.

The partnership was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by Amar Huzaimi Md. Deris, TM’s Group Chief Executive Officer, and Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer. It focuses on four key areas: Hyperconnected Networks, Advancing Digital Technology, Enhancing Customer Experience, and Environmental Sustainability.

TM, through its enterprise solutions arm TM One, aims to modernize Perodua’s infrastructure with cutting-edge fixed and wireless connectivity solutions. These include SD-WAN services for dealer networks, private 5G networks for automotive applications, and smart manufacturing technologies to enhance production efficiency. These innovations will streamline data management, strengthen operational capabilities, and support Perodua’s growth.

Furthermore, TM One will utilize its expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive smart manufacturing and develop advanced technologies for EVs and autonomous driving. Initiatives such as GPU as a Service are also on the agenda to support Perodua’s technological evolution.

The collaboration will extend to co-creating products and innovative market strategies to enhance customer engagement. This includes the development of customized infotainment systems, smart mapping solutions, and joint digital marketing efforts to target new customer segments.

Sustainability remains a central pillar of this partnership, with both companies committed to clean energy solutions and waste reduction. They will work together to establish EV charging infrastructure and adopt environmentally responsible practices, aligning with Malaysia’s sustainability objectives. Additionally, workforce training, research and development, and fostering a culture of innovation will drive progress in creating a digitally connected and eco-friendly automotive future.

Commenting on the partnership, Amar Huzaimi Md. Deris stated, “Our collaboration with Perodua underscores our dedication to driving digital transformation in the automotive sector.
