Proton dealer SG Cars Sdn Bhd (SG Cars) has officially unveiled Malaysia’s first Proton e.MAS dealership at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam. This landmark showroom marks a significant milestone for Proton’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand, Proton e.MAS, as it embarks on its journey toward sustainable mobility.
The launch event was graced by YB Tuan Lau Weng San, Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly; Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton; Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET; and Datuk Andrew Quek, Dealer Owner of SG Cars.
The opening of this dealership underscores the shared vision of Proton and SG Cars to deliver world-class sustainable automotive solutions. It represents a pivotal step in accelerating Malaysia’s adoption of electric mobility.

Proton e.MAS dealerships, managed under PRO-NET, are set to introduce elevated standards for sales and after-sales services. Sales assistants will be extensively trained to guide first-time EV owners on the nuances of EV ownership, ensuring customers feel confident in managing their vehicles.

PRO-NET has already appointed 37 dealers across Malaysia, with 30 expected to be fully operational by the end of 2024. To further enhance dealer expertise, a group of over 40 dealer principals and executives recently participated in a knowledge-sharing trip to the Geely Research Institute in Hangzhou, China. During the visit, participants explored Geely’s state-of-the-art technology and gained insights into premium EV customer care, sales strategies, and operational excellence.
