Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific Headquarters has reiterated its dedication to sustainability with the second year of its Future Mobility School program. This initiative aims to equip children across Southeast Asia with the skills and knowledge needed to lead in the evolving mobility landscape. Through immersive learning experiences, the program will benefit 1,150 students from 12 schools across four Southeast Asian countries, aligning with Hyundai’s “Progress for Humanity” vision.

The Future Mobility School embodies Hyundai’s mission to leverage mobility solutions as a force for good by empowering young minds to drive sustainable and inclusive innovation. Led by 19 passionate teachers, this year’s program builds on the success of its inaugural year, offering enhanced student engagement and fostering creative thinking through dynamic educational experiences.

“At Hyundai, we are committed to using mobility as a force for good and creating a sustainable future,” said Sunny Kim, President of Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific Headquarters. “Through the Future Mobility School, we empower young minds in Southeast Asia with the skills to lead sustainable mobility initiatives. By nurturing creativity and innovation, we prepare the next generation to make meaningful contributions to future mobility solutions. This program reflects our global initiative to develop local talent and foster positive change in Southeast Asian communities.”

The program underscores Hyundai’s shared vision that meaningful progress is rooted in humanity, aiming to create a world where future generations thrive in peace and comfort. By educating students on sustainable transportation and environmental stewardship, Hyundai reaffirms its commitment to youth empowerment and the environmental goals of Southeast Asia.

UNESCO APCEIU (Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding) has recognized Hyundai’s efforts, with Lim Wonjin, Head of the Office of International Teacher Exchange, stating, “Our children today are the future leaders of tomorrow, and empowering them to create a sustainable future is crucial. Hyundai’s Future Mobility School Program is a testament to corporate responsibility and global partnership.”

The program’s experiential approach encourages creativity and problem-solving by engaging students in real-world topics like sustainable transportation, environmental education, and innovation. Educators and students alike have praised the program’s impact.

“The Future Mobility School stimulates students’ learning processes, creativity, and environmental awareness. During the program, students learned to recycle materials,” said Sharifah Nur Fazilah, a teacher from SK Seri Budiman in Malaysia.

Shahzada, a third-grade student from Muhammadiyah Sapen Elementary School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, shared his excitement, saying, “It was nerve-wracking at first, but once I started, it turned out to be fun. I made a recycled wallet from used car seats with ‘Save the World’ written on the back.” His story highlights how the program sparks creativity and environmental consciousness in young learners. Similarly, Phot Wisethomdee, a 15-year-old student from Thailand, said, “This program gave us new knowledge and experiences. I think other schools should try it too.”

The Future Mobility School delivers a unifying message to all children: to save the planet by prioritizing sustainable mobility. With plans to expand the program to additional Southeast Asian countries, Hyundai reinforces its long-term commitment to developing future leaders and supporting local innovation. This initiative exemplifies Hyundai’s vision of sustainable mobility and its dedication to building a better future for all.
