In a pivotal move to promote sustainable mobility in Malaysia, Auto Bavaria has announced a strategic collaboration with AFFIN Group to expand the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network. This partnership reflects both organizations’ dedication to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, aiming to encourage responsible and eco-conscious mobility solutions.
Auto Bavaria, Malaysia’s largest authorized dealership for premium BMW Group vehicles, has long championed innovative and efficient transportation. By joining forces with AFFIN, a financial institution committed to environmental stewardship, the partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of accessible EV charging facilities, paving the way for a cleaner and greener future.
“At Auto Bavaria, we firmly believe electric vehicles are the future of mobility,” said Vi Thim Juan, Managing Director of Auto Bavaria. “This collaboration with AFFIN underscores our dedication to strengthening EV infrastructure and supporting Malaysia’s transition to a low-carbon economy. Together, we empower drivers to make environmentally responsible choices, reducing their carbon footprint in the process.”
Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah, President & Group Chief Executive Officer of Affin Bank Berhad, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, emphasizing AFFIN’s alignment with sustainable practices. “Our partnership with Auto Bavaria reinforces AFFIN’s commitment to ESG principles, delivering long-term positive impact while enhancing customer convenience. This effort aligns with our AX28 Strategic Plan pillars of ‘Unrivalled Customer Service’ and ‘Responsible Banking with Impact.’”
He further highlighted AFFIN’s expertise in auto financing as a key enabler of EV adoption. “We are making EV ownership more accessible through tailored financing solutions that simplify the purchase process and improve affordability. This initiative supports a larger shift toward sustainable living in Malaysia.”
As part of the collaboration, seven AC chargers and one DC charger will be installed at EV charging stations in Menara AFFIN, located at the Tun Razak Exchange, Malaysia’s International Financial Centre. These efforts represent a significant step toward building eco-friendly infrastructure and fostering a smarter, more sustainable way of life for Malaysians.
