UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has proudly donated RM200,000 to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) as part of Toyota’s commitment to community support and its “Mobility for All” vision. The donation handover ceremony, held at NCSM’s headquarters, marks a meaningful collaboration aimed at promoting community well-being and inclusivity.
Toyota’s “Start Your Impossible” campaign, first introduced alongside the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, embodies the brand’s evolution into a mobility-focused company with a strong emphasis on inclusivity. In alignment with this mission, UMWT hosts the annual Toyota Outrun, a fun run created to inspire active living, encourage personal achievements, and reaffirm Toyota’s dedication to social responsibility and innovative mobility solutions. The 2024 Toyota Outrun, held on June 23rd at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, saw an impressive turnout of 6,000 participants of all ages, raising RM200,000 to support NCSM’s efforts.
Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT, expressed Toyota’s deep-rooted belief in the power of mobility to enhance lives. “The Toyota Outrun 2024 unites thousands in a common goal—to lead a healthy lifestyle and support a worthy cause. We are honoured to partner with the National Cancer Society Malaysia once again to aid their fight against cancer and make a tangible difference in the community through this donation,” he said.
Beyond promoting physical fitness, the Toyota Outrun channels a portion of its proceeds to meaningful causes, including donations to NGOs such as NCSM. This year’s donation will be directed towards cancer prevention initiatives, patient support services, and critical research efforts, helping drive significant advancements in cancer care.
