Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd (Perodua Sales) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad and Gentari Sdn Bhd subsidiaries to elevate its retail offerings and advance green mobility initiatives.

The first MoU involves a partnership between Perodua Sales and PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Sdn Bhd (PLMMSB), Mesra Retail & Cafe Sdn Bhd (MESRA), and Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd (Setel). This collaboration aims to integrate Setel’s digital payment system into Perodua’s UFirst app, establish MESRA outlets at Perodua service centres, and set up Perodua service facilities at selected PETRONAS stations.

Perodua’s President and CEO, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, highlighted the longstanding partnership with PLMMSB, which has been the sole provider of vehicle lubricants to Perodua since 2004. He noted, “This partnership, spanning over two decades, will continue to evolve, delivering enhanced value to our customers while supporting sustainable practices in line with Malaysia’s green mobility goals.”

The second MoU, signed with Gentari through its subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, focuses on establishing EV charging facilities at Perodua service centres to prepare for the launch of Perodua’s electric vehicle (EV) lineup.

Gentari’s Deputy CEO and CEO of Green Mobility, Shah Yang Razalli, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to support Perodua’s vision of launching an affordable EV by 2025. This partnership will enhance charging accessibility through EV facilities at service centres, home charging solutions, and integration with the Gentari Go platform, ultimately improving the experience for future Perodua EV drivers.”

With PETRONAS operating over 1,000 stations nationwide and Gentari running Malaysia’s largest licensed DC charging network, the partnership is poised to enhance Perodua’s customer experience significantly. Currently, Perodua has 194 sales and 209 service centres across the country, positioning it to serve a wide customer base with these advancements.
