The Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) has wrapped up its 2024 season, concluding a year brimming with excitement, competition, and milestones. As a premier platform for local motorsport, MSF continues to captivate fans and racers alike, delivering high-octane action and a gateway to national-level racing.
The 2024 season kicked off in March, featuring six rounds of car racing under the MSF Superturismo series and five rounds of electrifying MSF Superbikes. Known for pushing boundaries, MSF introduced new categories and innovative events that thrilled participants and audiences.
Among the standout moments was the debut of the Supersports category for 600cc–800cc superbikes and the Myvi Cup Preview, teasing the 2025 season, where Malaysia’s beloved Myvi models will take center stage across all generations.
“We’ve had an extraordinary year,” said Adian Yein, Principal of MSF and a passionate advocate for motorsport. “From new categories and endurance races to reviving Saturday Night Fever, we’ve elevated the experience for everyone. Our collaboration with PETRONAS Primax for the Merdeka round was a major highlight, introducing 99-lap endurance car races and 12-lap superbike endurance races—a first for MSF.”
Yein further emphasized the importance of innovation and strategy in racing. “With partners like PETRONAS Primax, we’re able to push boundaries and inspire local teams to think creatively. Racing isn’t just about speed; it’s about mastering strategy to achieve victory.”
To cap off the season, MSF held a special track day before the final round, welcoming both amateur and professional racers. With fees starting at just RM250, the event allowed participants to test their machines while soaking in the festival’s exhilarating atmosphere.
In the superbike division, new champions emerged, including Zhafir Zarkasha, who dominated the Supersport category with back-to-back victories. The final round also saw the return of icons like former Moto2 and ARRC competitor Azlan Shah and superstar brothers Adam and Ibrahim Norrodin, who shone in the All Stars category.
Looking ahead to 2025, MSF promises even greater excitement, with 16 categories planned for MSF Superturismo. The championship remains steadfast in its mission to make motorsport accessible, affordable, and thrilling for racers at all levels.
“We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved,” Yein reflected. “The focus for 2025 is stability and growth, creating more opportunities for racers to showcase their talent. MSF will continue to fuel the passion for motorsport in Malaysia and beyond.”
As the 2024 season closes, MSF’s momentum only grows, setting the stage for another groundbreaking year of racing action.
