Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) celebrates a major milestone—45 years of innovation and commitment to quality—by producing its 6 millionth motorcycle. To commemorate this historic achievement, HLYM has introduced the limited-edition Y16ZR 6MRO, a model designed to showcase Yamaha’s dedication to both high performance and artistic flair. Additionally, Yamaha is thrilled to unveil Malaysia’s first motorcycle museum, Space Y, as part of the anniversary celebration.

The exclusive Y16ZR 6MRO, launched to mark this production milestone, is available in a limited run of only 3,000 units. This special model embodies Yamaha’s blend of power and artistry with its unique asymmetric color scheme, displaying contrasting colors on each side for a striking visual impact. Built with collectors and passionate riders in mind, the Y16ZR 6MRO also includes a unique serial number and a commemorative “6MRO” emblem, symbolizing its exclusivity and one-of-a-kind appeal.

Alongside the Y16ZR 6MRO, HLYM is offering a special merchandise package that mirrors the bike’s distinct design and style. The Y16ZR 6MRO Limited Edition will be available at all Yamaha Authorized Dealers starting December 1, 2024, at a retail price of RM13,668, excluding registration fees and insurance.

Adding to the 45th-anniversary celebrations, HLYM has inaugurated Space Y, Yamaha’s Motorcycle Museum, which is the first of its kind in Malaysia. Recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records, Space Y showcases Yamaha Motor’s legacy and evolution, inviting enthusiasts to explore a blend of history, innovation, and artistry in the world of motorcycles. Covering 9,000 square feet, the museum offers an immersive experience, including:

  • Historical and Racing Section: Displays that capture Yamaha’s history, key innovations, and achievements in racing.
  • Innovation Tunnel: An interactive showcase of Yamaha’s cutting-edge technology and production processes.
  • Interactive and Art Space: A space for design and customization experiences, featuring advanced elements such as AR technology and the 4D MotoXperience.
  • Theatre: A dedicated area for viewing Yamaha’s promotional videos and learning more about the brand’s journey.
  • Space-Y Shop: A retail space offering Yamaha-branded apparel and collectibles.

In celebration of its anniversary, HLYM invites the public to explore Space Y with free ad mission until December 31, 2024. The museum is open Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on select Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Visitors on November 9, 2024, will receive complimentary coffee and a chance to participate in the Free Yamaha Motorcycle Service Campaign. Starting January 2025, admission will be RM5 for adults and RM3 for children.
