Stellantis recently announced the launch of a new Regional Parts Hub in Malaysia. This facility plays a pivotal role in the company’s strategy to localize operations and solidify its long-term presence across the India and Asia Pacific (IAP) region, including key markets like Malaysia.
Daniel Gonzalez, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis ASEAN, highlighted the significance of the expansion:“India and Asia Pacific represent the third growth engine for Stellantis, and the Regional Parts Hub will become a key pillar of our regional supply chain strategy. This investment underscores our commitment not only to strengthening our footprint and growth in the region but also to positioning Malaysia as a vital automotive hub. We are here for the long run, focused on enhancing customer experience, service delivery, and operational efficiency.”
The new hub is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2025. It will serve around 20 countries across the region, including Malaysia, providing better access to automotive parts and components. The facility aligns with Stellantis’ strategy to improve aftersales service by reducing downtime, streamlining parts availability, and ensuring rapid delivery to dealerships and customers. It will stock parts from all Stellantis brands, including PEUGEOT, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, RAM, and Leapmotor.
Olivier Torchet, Head of Parts & Services for Stellantis India & Asia Pacific, emphasized the company’s focus on customer satisfaction: “The launch of this warehouse marks a significant step forward in our efforts to serve customers better across the IAP region. Located in a Free Trade Zone in Malaysia, the hub will enhance parts availability, shorten lead times, and improve service efficiency. This will allow us to meet growing customer demands and provide the highest level of aftersales support.”
Stellantis’ investment in Malaysia aligns with its “Built in ASEAN for ASEAN” strategy, which has been in development since 2021. A cornerstone of this approach was the acquisition of full ownership of the Stellantis Gurun plant in Kedah, which is being optimized as a regional manufacturing hub for both domestic use and exports within ASEAN. In March 2023, Stellantis Malaysia was officially established to manage the marketing, sales, distribution, and after-sales operations of all Stellantis brands in the country.
