Stellantis Malaysia has officially launched its first new energy vehicle (NEV) under the Leapmotor brand—the all-new electric Leapmotor C10 SUV. This marks a significant achievement for Leapmotor International, the joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor, created just a year ago to expand the reach of high-tech, cost-efficient Chinese NEVs outside Greater China. Stellantis has invested €1.5 billion in Leapmotor, acquiring a 21% stake, solidifying the partnership.
With its sleek aesthetic, the C10 features distinctive LED angel-winged headlamps, a sculpted front bumper, and a modern rear spoiler. Built on Leapmotor’s advanced 3.0 platform, the C10 is a spacious D-segment SUV, with dimensions of 4,739 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and a wheelbase of 2,825 mm.
The C10 introduces groundbreaking Cell-To-Chassis (CTC) 2.0 technology, integrating the battery into the vehicle’s structure, which improves battery layout, torsional rigidity, and thermal management. The 69.9kWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate battery, paired with an Ai Battery Management System, provides a range of up to 477 km (NEDC) and supports fast charging and vehicle-to-load (V2L) output.
Powered by a 214 hp electric motor, the C10 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds. The vehicle’s electric architecture is driven by a Snapdragon™ 8155 chip, delivering seamless control over key driving, cabin, and body functions.
Inside, the C10 offers a high-tech, minimalist experience. Its 14.6-inch infotainment screen and 10.2-inch instrument display are accompanied by smart features like voice control, a panoramic 360° camera, and custom driving modes. Rear passengers can enjoy luxury features such as a 2.1 m² panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a 12-speaker surround sound system.
Safety is a priority in the C10, which is equipped with ADAS Level 2, offering features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Driver Drowsiness Alerts.
The Leapmotor C10 is priced at RM149,000 (introductory price until November 30, 2024), with a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty. After this period, the price will increase to RM159,000. Customers can choose from four exterior colors—Glazed Green, Pearly White, Canopy Grey, and Tundra Grey—with two interior options: Criollo Brown (exclusive to Glazed Green) and Midnight Aurora. Stellantis Malaysia plans to roll out 18 sales locations by the end of 2024 and expand its service network in 2025.
