smart Malaysia proudly announced the winners of its “Electrifying The Future” competition, held in collaboration with the University of Wollongong Malaysia (UOW Malaysia). The contest, which featured innovative short videos created by students, concluded with a thrilling screening event at the UOW Malaysia campus.
Team 2 Fast 2 Smart emerged as the grand prize winners, earning RM5,000 for their engaging and humorous video that showcased the unique features and benefits of the smart #1 electric vehicle. Their creative storytelling helped set the vehicle apart in the growing electric vehicle market. Second place, with a prize of RM4,000, went to Team JSL, who presented a heartwarming road trip narrative. Meanwhile, Team SJY Studio secured third place and RM3,000 with their inspiring vision for a sustainable future. Additionally, Team Jus Mad received an Honourable Mention and a RM1,000 prize, while Team BCM won RM1,000 for garnering the Most Likes and Shares.
“STEAM skills are crucial for shaping the future, and this competition aligns perfectly with our vision of reimagining the future with electric vehicles,” said Zhang Qiang, CEO of Smart Malaysia. “The students’ creativity and humor were remarkable, and I want to congratulate the winning teams. They represent the future and have the right mindset to tell the story of the society we want to create.”
Throughout the competition, which began on May 31, 2024, the finalists had the opportunity to present their ideas and motivations to a panel of distinguished judges, including senior management from both Smart Malaysia and UOW Malaysia.
Professor Dr. Hiew Pang Leang, Vice Chancellor of UOW Malaysia, expressed his admiration for the students: “It has been a privilege to witness their journey, integrating creative thinking into their education while showcasing their talent through video production. They have shown an impressive understanding of the new EV lifestyle, creatively conveying the positive impact of electric vehicles and their potential to inspire global change.”
