SAIC Motor Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the MG Cyberster, the brand’s inaugural all-electric roadster, with an estimated price below RM350,000. The much-anticipated model, featuring striking scissor doors, will make its debut at the Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024.
The MG Cyberster is a powerhouse, available in a single variant that delivers 503 PS (375 kW) and a peak torque of 725 Nm. This performance is driven by a dual-motor all-wheel drive (4WD) system. Its 77 kWh battery enables the roadster to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, with a WLTP-certified range of 446 km on a full charge. For charging, the Cyberster offers efficiency with a 7 kW AC fast charger, allowing a 10% to 100% charge in roughly 10.5 hours. For faster charging, a 150 kW DC charger is available, providing a 10% to 80% charge in just 38 minutes.
Visually, the Cyberster stands out with its sleek, low-profile body and retractable soft top. The frameless scissor doors add both flair and functionality. Its exterior design is enhanced by 20-inch Jetstream alloy wheels, bold red calipers, and automatic LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRL) for enhanced visibility.
Inside, the roadster boasts a sporty and luxurious interior, with leather sports seats featuring Alcantara inserts and a Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel. The infotainment system includes a 7-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch driver display, and two 7-inch auxiliary screens on either side. This is paired with an 8-speaker Bose audio system for an elevated listening experience. 
Safety is a priority in the Cyberster, equipped with the MG Pilot, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). Features like Front Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian and bicycle detection, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Jam Assistance (TJA), and many more ensure the safety of every journey. 
The MG Cyberster will be available in four colors: Dynamic Red, Camden Grey, Inca Yellow, and English White. Each color is paired with matching interior themes—Dynamic Red and Camden Grey with black and red interiors, while Inca Yellow and English White feature grey interiors, all enhanced by a sleek black hood.
At ACE 2024, attendees will also have the opportunity to test drive several MG models, including the MG HS SUV, MG5 sedan, MG4 EV, and MG ZS EV SUV. SAIC Motor Malaysia will be accepting pre-launch bookings for both the MG Cyberster and MG HS at the event, where visitors can interact with specialists to learn more about the company’s innovative approach to sustainable mobility.
