Porsche’s Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package has demonstrated its versatility and performance by setting record-breaking lap times on three diverse racetracks across the globe. “Every racetrack presents its own set of challenges. To showcase the comprehensive capabilities of the Taycan Turbo GT, we aimed to break records at three distinctly different circuits,” said Kevin Giek, Vice President of Model Line Taycan at Porsche. “Success in the Eifel region of Germany, California, and China highlights the international prowess of the Taycan.”

The demanding conditions, including intermittent rain, added to the challenge, but development driver Lars Kern was impressed by the vehicle’s handling and performance. “The track was damp due to light rain, making it harder to control the car. The Taycan’s balance truly shined, especially during the snail curve, where hard braking is required. Accelerating out of that turn is critical to maintain speed,” said Kern. He also noted that the Taycan Turbo GT hit a top speed of 300 km/h on the fastest part of the track, with its drivetrain engineered for maximum traction and performance.

The Taycan Turbo GT’s attack mode also proved effective on the Formula 1 circuit, delivering a 10-second boost of up to 120 kW of additional power. For safety, the record-breaking car was equipped with a full safety cage, racing bucket seats, and optional Pirelli Trofeo RS tires.

Porsche expanded its electric sports saloon lineup in spring 2024 with the introduction of the Taycan Turbo GT and Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package. These cars feature a more powerful and efficient pulse inverter using silicon carbide on the rear axle, enabling short power boosts exceeding 1,100 PS. Intelligent lightweight construction, including carbon parts, reduced the car’s weight by up to 75 kg compared to the Taycan Turbo S. The Weissach package further enhances track performance by removing the rear seats to improve the power-to-weight ratio.

Both models come standard with Porsche Active Ride suspension, which ensures optimal road contact during dynamic driving. The Taycan Turbo GT and the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package are now available in Malaysia, starting at RM 1,160,000 each (before options).
