Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has reaffirmed its support for the Nicol David Organisation’s (NDO) “Little Legends” and “Ibu Legends” programmes by contributing RM100,000, marking the third consecutive year of partnership. This renewed collaboration highlights Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s ongoing dedication to education and sustainability, with a focus on empowering communities through quality learning initiatives.
The company remains committed to raising children’s awareness of sustainability, equipping them with the knowledge needed to contribute to environmental preservation for future generations. This year’s partnership extends further, aiming to engage mothers in understanding climate change and sustainability, while enhancing their overall knowledge as parents.
The partnership renewal was celebrated during an “Ibu Legends” workshop hosted at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s office, where 35 mothers participated in discussions on parenting strategies and climate change. Participants were also given the opportunity to test drive the latest Mercedes-Benz vehicles and capture special moments through photos and videos.
In addition to supporting “Ibu Legends,” Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is deepening its involvement with the “Little Legends” programme by conducting four specialised workshops for the children. These sessions will focus on critical sustainability topics such as global warming, pollution, and sustainable farming practices, promoting environmental awareness from a young age.
The company will also introduce a segment from its Mobile Kids programme, which teaches children the importance of road safety in a fun and engaging way. By fostering an understanding of sustainability and safety, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia aims to prepare the next generation to contribute to a more sustainable and secure future.
In line with Mercedes-Benz’s broader strategy, the company remains committed to embedding sustainability in all aspects of its operations. Its Ambition 2039 initiative underscores a long-term vision for sustainable mobility, prioritising a reduced environmental footprint.
Founded by Datuk Nicol David and Mariana de Reyes, the Nicol David Organisation aims to empower children through sports and education. Its “Little Legends” programme supports families from mid- to low-income backgrounds in Kuala Lumpur, offering an after-school curriculum that includes squash training, English tutoring, life skills workshops, and a nutrition plan.
In June 2024, the organisation launched the “Ibu Legends” initiative, designed to empower mothers by improving their health and mental well-being. The programme offers free medical checkups, mental health support, physical wellness guidance, and parenting workshops over a four-month period to help enhance the overall well-being and resilience of participating mothers.
