Leapmotor International, a joint venture between Stellantis (51%) and Leapmotor (49%), has shipped its first batch of Leapmotor C10 electric SUVs from Shanghai to ports across the Asia Pacific region this month. This marks a major milestone for the partnership, highlighting their shared commitment to delivering sustainable mobility solutions and fostering innovation in the rapidly growing EV market of the Asia Pacific region.
The Leapmotor C10 SUV stands out with its advanced EV technology, offering top-tier performance, efficiency, and impressive range. As of September 2024, Leapmotor ranks as the third-largest Chinese EV startup, having delivered a cumulative total of 460,000 units.
This initial shipment is just the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Leapmotor and Stellantis, with plans to launch at least one new model every year for the next three years.
The C10, Leapmotor’s first global vehicle, has been designed to meet international standards for design and safety. Built on Leapmotor’s self-developed LEAP3.0 technology architecture, it features cutting-edge innovations such as a centralized electronic and electrical architecture, cell-to-chassis (CTC) technology, and a flagship intelligent cockpit system.
This family-oriented D-segment vehicle delivers a best-in-class premium driving experience, with a 420 km WLTP-rated range and compliance with 5-star E-NCAP safety standards. The C10’s design has garnered international recognition, including the “2023 International CMF Design Award” for its blend of technological sophistication and natural aesthetics. It recently secured the 2024 Gold Award from both the French Design Awards (FDA) and the US MUSE Design Awards.
