In a landmark moment, Hyundai Motor Company is commemorating the production of its 100 millionth vehicle with the launch of a special exhibition titled “One Step Further”, hosted at Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul. This exhibition not only highlights the company’s journey to this incredible milestone but also expresses Hyundai’s gratitude to its loyal customers.

Following the celebration at Hyundai’s Ulsan Plant on September 30, where the 100 millionth vehicle, an IONIQ 5, was delivered to its new owner, the Seoul exhibition delves deeper into the factors driving the company’s success. Sungwon Jee, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer at Hyundai, emphasized the collective effort it took to reach this milestone: “It takes thousands of parts and pieces to build a car, with combined efforts of millions of people involved in R&D, design, and manufacturing over many years. We wanted to showcase the story behind Hyundai’s transformation from a traditional automaker to a leading smart mobility solutions provider.”

Spread across five floors, the exhibition presents a rich narrative of Hyundai’s evolution. On the first floor, visitors can explore the company’s early days, featuring the Cortina Mark 2, Hyundai’s first production model, and the Pony, its first independently developed car. Moving up to the second floor, the exhibit offers a retrospective on how Hyundai has shaped the lives of its customers and evolved its production processes at key manufacturing plants.

The third floor focuses on the vehicles that played pivotal roles in Hyundai’s growth, including the first-generation SONATA, ELANTRA, and Scoupe. These models symbolize the brand’s relentless drive for excellence. The SONATA demonstrated Hyundai’s craftsmanship and product quality, while the ELANTRA introduced automated production lines, boosting the company’s production capacity. The Scoupe, featuring Hyundai’s first proprietary engine, marked a significant step forward in the sports car segment in Korea.

On the fourth and fifth floors, visitors are introduced to Hyundai’s modern SUV lineup – including the SANTA FE, KONA, and INSTER – as well as its cutting-edge electric vehicles like the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 5 N, and IONIQ 6. These floors look toward Hyundai’s future, as the company continues its transformation into a smart mobility solutions provider, going ‘one step further’ in innovation and sustainability.

Running from October 10 to November 10, the exhibition is free to the public and serves as a testament to Hyundai Motor’s unwavering commitment to progress, customer satisfaction, and a bright future.
