Volvo Cars Malaysia has officially expanded its local lineup with the launch of the all-new Volvo EX30, the brand’s smallest all-electric SUV. Building on the success of the XC40 and C40 models, the EX30 offers a fresh addition to Volvo’s electric vehicle range and is available in three distinct variants: the EX30 Plus, EX30 Ultra, and EX30 Ultra Twin Performance. Prices for the new model start at RM188,888.
The EX30 Plus and Ultra variants feature a single electric motor mounted at the rear, delivering 272 PS and 343 Nm of torque. This setup enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the EX30 Ultra Twin Performance variant boasts dual electric motors, which generate a combined 428 PS and 543 Nm of torque, achieving a faster 0-100 km/h sprint in a remarkable 3.6 seconds.
All variants are equipped with a 69 kWh NMC battery, offering a range of up to 476 km for the single motor versions and up to 450 km for the Ultra Twin Performance variant. Additionally, the EX30 supports 175 kW DC fast charging, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 28 minutes.
Standard features across the EX30 lineup include LED headlights, 19-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels, Pilot Assist, Harman Kardon premium sound system, power tailgate, frameless auto-dimming side and rear-view mirrors, ambient lighting themes, and a comprehensive suite of Volvo’s advanced driver assistance systems. The Ultra variants offer extra amenities, including Park Pilot Assist, a 360-degree camera, powered front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
Exterior color options include Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, Crystal White, and Onyx Black. For a limited time, the Ultra variants are also available in a striking Moss Yellow colorway, inspired by the lichen found along Sweden’s west coast.
The Volvo EX30 will now be fully imported from Sweden, but there are plans for local assembly soon. Pricing is set at RM188,888 for the EX30 Plus, RM208,888 for the EX30 Ultra, and RM228,888 for the EX30 Ultra Twin Performance. Customers in Sabah and Sarawak can purchase the three variants at RM188,648, RM208,648, and RM228,648, respectively.
In line with Volvo’s commitment to customer satisfaction, the EX30 comes with a five-year complimentary Volvo Service Plan (VSP), digital services, 24-hour roadside assistance, and an unlimited mileage warranty. The high-voltage battery pack is also covered by an eight-year warranty.
