smart Malaysia, in collaboration with the University of Wollongong Malaysia (UOW Malaysia), is proud to announce the participation of 18 student groups in the ‘Electrifying The Future’ competition. This initiative, designed to spark creativity and inspire the next generation of storytellers, has entered its second phase, with the final winners set to be revealed in October. The competition boasts a total prize pool of RM14,000.
The goal of ‘Electrifying The Future’ is to challenge students to reimagine the future of mobility through storytelling, innovation, and creativity. Participants hail from diverse academic fields such as Business, Engineering, Communication & Creative Arts, Computing & Creative Media, Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts, and Pre-university Studies. This competition not only enriches their educational experience but also offers vital industry exposure and insight into the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) sector.
Zhang Qiang, CEO of smart Malaysia, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “I’m thrilled to see young Malaysians passionately shaping the future of electric mobility through their creativity in storytelling, amplifying their vision for EVs in today’s world. By leveraging the power of STEAM, they’ve developed innovative messaging to raise awareness. I’m excited to see them spread the positive message about owning an EV and how it represents the next big step toward a sustainable future.”
Professor Dr. Hiew Pang Leang, Vice Chancellor of UOW Malaysia, also praised the submissions, stating, “The entries this year reflect remarkable effort, with students demonstrating a growing understanding of the smart brand and the possibilities of electric vehicles. They’ve researched the car’s features and the solutions it offers, presenting ideas that highlight the lifestyle benefits of going electric while emphasizing key technological innovations. Their vision focuses on shaping a cleaner, more sustainable future while driving positive change in their schools and communities.”
As the competition moves into Phase 2, a panel of judges from smart Malaysia and UOW Malaysia has carefully evaluated the entries. Now, students will share their stories on social media, vying for the “Most Likes and Shares” category, which aims to expand the reach of their narratives. Criteria for selecting the overall winners include creativity, originality, theme relevance, storytelling impact, and production quality.
