BMW Malaysia has expanded its lineup of locally assembled BMW 5 Series models with the launch of the new BMW 520i M Sport. This addition follows the introduction of the BMW 520i at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 in May.
The new BMW 520i M Sport brings an added layer of sportiness and style to the dynamic 5 Series range, offering Malaysian customers greater flexibility in choosing a model that suits their preferences. The vehicle’s sleek and sporty design is accentuated by the M Sport package, which enhances its elongated silhouette and athletic appeal. Key exterior features include Adaptive LED headlights, kidney grilles with BMW Iconic Glow, and 19-inch M light alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 935 M Bicolour. The look is further refined with M high gloss shadowline trim. 
Inside, the cabin of the new BMW 520i M Sport is upgraded with an M anthracite headliner, M accents in dark chrome, and aluminium rhombicle trim. A 3-spoke M Sport leather steering wheel adds a sporty touch to the interior. The BMW Curved Display, consisting of a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen Control Display, provides intuitive, driver-focused control. The BMW Interaction Bar and ambient lighting allow for customizable mood settings, while the Harman Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system delivers exceptional audio quality for on-the-road entertainment.
Powering the new BMW 520i M Sport is a four-cylinder B48 engine, paired with a 48V mild hybrid system that produces a combined output of 153 kW/208 hp and 330 Nm of torque. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h. 
The new BMW 520i M Sport also comes equipped with advanced driving assistance systems, including the Driving Assistant Plus, which features Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and Lane Departure Warning with lane return. The Parking Assistant Plus is also standard, enhancing safety and convenience for the driver.
For connectivity, the car includes BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Connected Drive Services, Teleservices, Intelligent Emergency Call, and the Connected Package Professional, which integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless charging tray is also provided to keep devices powered up on the go. 
Available in four exterior colors — Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Oxide Grey Metallic, and Cape York Green Metallic — the new BMW 520i M Sport offers two upholstery options: Veganza Perforated and Quilted Black or Veganza Perforated and Quilted Espresso Brown. Owners will also benefit from the BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience, which includes BMW Roadside Assistance, Accident Hotline, and BMW Service Online.
The new BMW 520i M Sport is priced at RM 349,800 (on the road, without insurance), with an optional BMW Service & Repair Inclusive package available for an additional RM 26,900, covering a 5-year extended warranty and service package.
