Following his first Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup win at Monza earlier this month, Alessandro Ghiretti arrives in Singapore with the aim of extending his 20-point lead in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia standings. The Team Jebsen driver has been in stellar form, but he faces stiff competition as the season heats up.

Mathys Jaubert of TORO Racing, who stood on the podium in all three races at Sepang, continues to be Ghiretti’s closest challenger. Dylan Pereira (Shanghai Yonda Team BWT) is also in strong contention, having secured a memorable victory under the lights in Malaysia last month.

Marco Giltrap (Team Porsche New Zealand) celebrated his first podium finish of the 2024 season during the opening race in Sepang, while Martin Ragginger earned his third podium of the campaign in his #86 Porsche Holding car.

In the Pro-Am class, Bao Jinlong (Phantom Global Racing) has maintained his championship lead and could potentially clinch his fifth title this weekend if the results favor him. The battle for second place is intensifying, with Z SPEED Motorsport’s Li Xuanyu currently holding the position. However, Eric Zang of TORO Racing has made significant strides, taking maximum points in two races at Sepang to close the gap on Xuanyu. Meanwhile, Team Betterlife’s Li Chao is also in the mix, sitting just behind Zang in fourth place.

The Am category saw a thrilling battle in Malaysia between Eric Kwong (Bergwerk Motorsport) and Munkong Sathienthirakul (EBM Giga Racing). Kwong claimed victory twice, while Sathienthirakul took the win in the second race. Henry Kwong (Triple Ace Racing) consistently finished third across all three rounds.

This weekend’s races in Singapore will see Simon Chan (Porsche Sprint Trophy Thailand) making his series debut in the #969 Porsche Own Retail 69 Team car. Anderson Tanoto He (Trans-China Automotive Racing) steps in for Francis Tjia, while the only female racer on the grid, Zhu Zhiyao, returns in her #33 R&B Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992).

Adding to the excitement, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will host its Formation Lap event on Friday morning, where plans for the 2025 season will be revealed.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit, a 4.94-kilometer track featuring 19 corners, is known for its demanding layout. The combination of tight corners, high speeds, and humid conditions presents one of the toughest challenges in the global racing calendar.

On-track action kicks off on Friday at 14:10 local time with Free Practice, followed by Qualifying on Saturday at 13:50, and Race 1 at 16:10. Sunday’s event will take place at 16:40.
