In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the iconic Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche has teamed up with sportswear giant Puma to create a special collection that’s sure to excite enthusiasts. This exclusive release features twelve unique sneaker designs, each limited to 911 pairs, paying homage to the legacy of the 911 Turbo.
Two of the standout designs in this series draw direct inspiration from legendary Porsche models, incorporating elements that fans will immediately recognize. The “Turbo No. 1” sneaker is a tribute to the classic Porsche gifted to Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday. This model features a striking metallic silver finish, with the interior of the shoe showcasing the iconic red and blue tartan pattern found in the first 911 Turbo’s interior.
Another gem in the collection, the “Turbo 930” sneaker, honors Dr. Ferry Porsche’s 1976 Turbo. This sneaker is crafted in Oak Green Metallic, with a green tartan inner lining mirroring the original Turbo’s interior. The “Turbo No. 1” uses premium full-grain leather, while the “Turbo 930” is made from luxurious nubuck leather, ensuring superior comfort and style.
All sneaker designs feature dynamic vintage turbo lettering on the exterior, along with a subtle Porsche logo. The heel section, a highlight for sneaker fans, incorporates design cues from the Porsche 911 Turbo’s iconic “whale fin” rear spoiler and the car’s distinctive horizontal red tail lights. A tonal Porsche Crest in 3D print adorns the heel, while the lacing is accented with a removable plaque commemorating the 50th anniversary. The motorsport-inspired Puma “Road Rider” silhouette was chosen as the base for these unique models.
In addition to these two models, Porsche and Puma are releasing ten exclusive market editions, each inspired by a specific Porsche 911 Turbo model from various regions, including Germany, France, the UK, Japan, and the U.S. These market editions will be available in limited runs of 911 pairs each, featuring exterior colors from the original Porsche palette of 1975 to 1977.
For Porsche fans in Malaysia, the “Turbo No. 1” and “Turbo 930” sneakers will be available in an exclusive polar blue colorway, starting 29 August 2024, at all Porsche Centres. Each purchase includes an additional set of laces for a personalized look and comes packaged in a sleek black Porsche Puma sports bag, underscoring the exclusivity of this release.
