Maserati has unveiled its latest super sports car, the Maserati GT2 Stradale, marking its world premiere at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California. On Friday, August 16, the highly anticipated vehicle was revealed to an eager audience at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, a prestigious event within the renowned motorsport week that draws enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.

The Maserati GT2 Stradale is a tribute to the pinnacle of sportiness, born from a technical and stylistic collaboration between the Maserati GT2—a masterpiece engineered for the brand’s return to GT racing—and the iconic Maserati MC20, known for its unmistakable design. Maserati has taken an already impressive foundation and developed a car that seamlessly blends the best of its racing pedigree with the refined qualities of its road-going models.

At the core of the Maserati GT2 Stradale is a deep transfer of racing technology, bringing pure performance to the forefront while maintaining the inherent elegance of the MC20. This new super sports car exudes both style and racing prowess, delivering an ideal balance of comfort and exhilarating driving experience on any road, true to Maserati’s reputation.

Boasting a top speed exceeding 320 km/h, the GT2 Stradale offers an impressive 640 hp—10 hp more than the MC20—and a reduced weight by 60 kg. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 2.8 seconds, promising unmatched sensations and superior performance, thanks in part to its advanced aerodynamics and striking design, which it inherits from its racing counterpart. Behind the wheel, drivers will experience the thrill of piloting one of the most remarkable track-inspired cars, now optimized for everyday roads worldwide.

Key features of the Maserati GT2 Stradale include a wide range of customization options, with packages aimed at enhancing performance and achieving a bolder aesthetic. The car also offers exclusive Fuoriserie content and specific configurations that vary by market.

Maserati CEO Davide Grasso expressed his enthusiasm for the new model: “The Maserati GT2 Stradale is a unique product, bringing together the brand’s greatest sporting heritage while evolving one of Maserati’s most iconic vehicles, the MC20 halo car. This model, designed for everyday driving, was created to offer our customers more in terms of technical mastery, innovation, design, and road-driving emotions. On one hand, it features sophisticated solutions reserved for track-only models, epitomizing Maserati’s racing DNA. On the other, it guarantees optimal comfort paired with the most advanced driver assistance systems. The Maserati GT2 Stradale fulfills the desires of the most discerning enthusiasts, embodying the brand’s entire essence.”

The world premiere of the Maserati GT2 Stradale at The Quail was accompanied by two other spectacular Trident models: the MC20 Icona, making its North American debut, and the MCXtrema, featured at Laguna Seca during an event celebrating the delivery of the first model of Maserati’s latest track-dedicated ‘beast.’

The MC20 Icona, unveiled in June this year, is a special edition created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Maserati’s return to GT racing, with the unforgettable and victorious MC12. Limited to just 20 units, the MC20 Icona, in its distinctive Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale livery, pays homage to the 2004 MC12 Stradale, a beloved model with a Ferrari-derived 12-cylinder engine that represented Maserati’s most extreme performance in GT competitions.

In 2024, the MCXtrema returns to The Quail following its 2023 world premiere, setting the stage for another exclusive event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on August 18, where the first of 62 models will be delivered. Designed exclusively for track use, the MCXtrema, with its 730 hp and bold, refined design, was conceived as a super sports car for a select clientele with a passion for performance and technical excellence. As Maserati’s most powerful track car, the MCXtrema embodies the future of the brand, elevating its racing spirit to new heights.
