In a significant move towards sustainable and responsible corporate mobility, Leader Energy Group Berhad (formerly Leader Energy Holding Berhad) has announced the acquisition of new electric vehicles (EVs) for its corporate fleet. This initiative is part of a partnership with BMW Group Malaysia, facilitated through their authorized dealer, Wheelcorp Premium.

This acquisition follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BMW Group Malaysia and Leader Energy, aimed at enhancing EV charging infrastructure across the nation. Leader Energy will be integrating the latest BMW i models into their fleet, including the BMW i4 eDrive35, BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport, and BMW iX xDrive50. This move represents Leader Energy’s first major step towards embracing more responsible mobility solutions, with a clear focus on significantly reducing CO2 emissions across their operations. The company also has plans to further expand its fleet with additional BMW i EVs over the coming year.

Sashi Ambihaipahan, Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at BMW Group Malaysia, praised Leader Energy’s commitment, stating, “Leader Energy has shown exemplary leadership in renewable energy and the shift to electric vehicles. As the leading provider of premium electrified vehicles, BMW Group Malaysia is proud to support this transformative journey with our state-of-the-art BMW i models. We hope this initiative serves as a catalyst for other like-minded organizations to adopt clean mobility practices and recognize the long-term benefits of transitioning to electric vehicles, integrating more responsible technology into their business operations.”

Leader Energy, along with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, is an independent power producer involved in the development, ownership, operation, and maintenance of power assets and projects. In collaboration with BMW Group Malaysia, Leader Energy is also developing multiple fast-charging sites along the North-South Highway in Peninsular Malaysia, further advancing the nation’s EV infrastructure.
