BMW Group Malaysia, in collaboration with its authorised dealers and key charge point operators, has unveiled four new electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities strategically located in the Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan, and Pahang. These new installations are designed to offer EV owners enhanced peace of mind for interstate travel, ensuring convenient and accessible charging options across key areas.

Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, emphasized the company’s commitment to an electrified future for Malaysia. “By rolling out more state-of-the-art charging facilities nationwide, we are reinforcing our dedication to an Electrified Future for Malaysia. This is further exemplified by the rapid launch of fully electric models from both BMW and MINI in the first half of 2024. As the leading premium electric vehicle provider in Malaysia, we believe these facilities not only serve our customers but also support the nation’s transition towards comprehensive Electrified Mobility,” he stated.

In the Klang Valley, two new charging facilities have been introduced. The first, located at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara, has been established in partnership with Quill Automobiles and ChargeSini, featuring 47 kW DC chargers priced at RM1.39/kWh. The second facility, in collaboration with Millennium Welt and ChargeSini, offers three 22 kW AC chargers at Imperial Lexis in Kuala Lumpur, with rates starting from RM1.00/kWh.

In Negeri Sembilan, BMW Group Malaysia, alongside Millennium Welt, has introduced two BMW i Wallbox units at CMH Specialist Hospital in Seremban. These Wallboxes provide an AC output of 7.4 kW and are available for complimentary use by hospital staff. Meanwhile, in Pahang, Zenith Hotel Kuantan now boasts a 160 kW DC fast charger, thanks to a partnership with Millennium Welt Kuantan and EL Charge, with charging rates set at RM1.69/kWh.

These new facilities are part of BMW Group Malaysia’s broader strategy to build a comprehensive EV charging infrastructure, in partnership with local dealers and charging providers. To date, BMW Group Malaysia has made over 2,020 charging facilities available for EV owners across the country, through strategic collaborations with various EV charging providers. Additionally, more than 100 BMW i and MINI charging facilities are accessible at authorised dealerships and partner locations nationwide, with further expansions planned for the coming year.
