Porsche Malaysia is launching the inaugural Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2024, starting on 19 July 2024. This exciting event will feature two qualifying knockout rounds, culminating in an electrifying finals championship during the PCCA weekend from 9 to 11 August 2024.
Aspiring racers and gaming enthusiasts are invited to showcase their talent and passion in this online motorsport competition. The challenge opens for online entries from 19 July to 21 July 2024, and interested sim-racers can sign up for free at http://pescm.porsche.com.my.
Participants will compete on the Assetto Corsa platform, featuring tracks from the PCCA tour, and can register in one of three age categories:
- 10 – 14 years old
- 15 – 17 years old
- 18 years old and above
The first round of qualifying can be done from home or at Porsche Centre Ara Damansara and involves a five-lap time-trial on the virtual Buriram Circuit. The fastest 30 participants will advance to the second round, held on 27 and 28 July 2024 at Porsche Centre Ara Damansara.
In this second round, participants will receive personal coaching and a 20-minute practice session on the virtual Suzuka Circuit. The top 10 finishers, determined by their fastest lap times in a five-lap time trial, will proceed to the finals from 9 to 11 August 2024 at Sepang International Circuit.
During the finals, coinciding with the Malaysia leg of the PCCA 2024, the top 10 finalists will compete in a thrilling sprint race over two days, paralleling the live PCCA races. Finalists will get 30 minutes of free practice on the Sepang track before a 15-minute qualifying session and can earn up to 10 points per race for overall standings.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia provides an exciting backdrop for the finals. As racing fans gather at Sepang International Circuit, the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2024 will highlight the thrilling integration of virtual and real-world racing, offering a unique platform for the future generation of motorsport.
