The Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup Malaysia series is back, and Toyota Malaysia is calling on all Malaysians to register for this exciting event. Finalists have the chance to win one of the most lucrative and rewarding experiences in e-racing. When the Toyota GR GT Cup was first introduced in 2018, the cash prize was RM 70,000. For 2024, the prize has increased to RM 120,500.

With an average of 1,000 participants each season, the Qualifiers will begin on 22 June 2024, whittling down the competitors to the 40 fastest simulator racers in Malaysia. These racers will compete in the Grand Finals from 27-28 July at Sunway University. During the two-day finale, the top 20 racers from the Quarter-Finals will automatically advance to the Semi-Finals, where the top 10 will be crowned champions of the 2024 Toyota GR GT Cup Malaysia.

As the only online racing series or competition in Malaysia supported by a carmaker since 2018, the Toyota GR GT Cup Malaysia series attracts over 3 million online viewers. Last year, Taj Izrin Aiman Taj Madira secured his third overall title, making him the most decorated Toyota GR GT Cup Malaysia racer to date. Following him were Dhanest Wigneswaran and Chong Kai Chang, who clinched second and third place, respectively. These three racers represented Malaysia in the Toyota GR GT Cup Asia, achieving runners-up in the team category. This year’s top three winners will again represent Malaysia in the regional competition and compete for a spot in the World Finals.

Season 7 will also feature the return of the Toyota Gazoo Racing roving truck, which will visit 8 universities across Peninsular Malaysia, including Sunway University, UiTM Pasir Gudang, MMU Cyberjaya, UNITAR, UiTM Shah Alam, UKM Bangi, IIUM Gombak, and USM Nibong Tebal.

The GR Tour, introduced last year, brings the simulated racing experience to undergraduates and identifies potential racing talent. The top 10 undergraduate racers from the tour will compete in this year’s Toyota GR GT Cup Malaysia series Grand Finals.
