After introducing the updated A-class and GLA, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia continues to introduce the updated GLB. Available in the Mercedes-Benz GLB 200 and the Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 4MATIC, it comes with robust proportions and a host of innovations, the spacious GLB compact SUV is now even more appealing to customers. The GLB 200 starts at RM 290,888, while the GLB 250 4MATIC is priced from RM 341,888.

The new GLB features a redesigned front bumper with visual underbody protection, reflecting its off-road capabilities. The GLB 200’s SUV radiator grille, with four horizontal louvres, enhances this rugged image, while the GLB 250 4MATIC sports a grille with single louvres and chrome inserts. Both models showcase a revised front apron with a geometric design, and an athletic shoulder shape with sleek side graphics that create dynamic light and shadow effects, leading to a visually wider rear end. The GLB 200 boasts a Progressive Line exterior, whereas the GLB 250 4MATIC features an AMG Line exterior.

The Night Package adds high-gloss black finishes to various trim parts, including the radiator shell louvres, front and rear apron trim elements, roof railing, exterior mirror housing, beltline, window line trim strip, and simulated underguards. The GLB 250 4MATIC further distinguishes itself with an AMG front apron with a front splitter and an AMG rear apron with visible tailpipe trim in high-gloss black.

Striking new full-LED headlights and rear lights enhance the vehicle’s appearance, with a new Spectral Blue Metallic paint option available. The LED High Performance headlamps feature Adaptive Highbeam Assist, which automatically activates the high beams when no illuminated vehicles are detected ahead or in oncoming traffic. The GLB 200 is equipped with 18-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, while the GLB 250 4MATIC comes with 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.

Inside, the GLB offers a spacious, versatile interior with a modern, high-tech ambiance, accommodating up to seven pas sengers. A standout feature is the freestanding double screen with 10.25-inch wide-screen displays for the instrument cluster and multimedia screens. The latest generation of the MBUX infotainment system provides wireless access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with hard-disc navigation available through the Mercedes me store.

The interior’s sporty elegance is accentuated by round turbine-look air vents, contrasting with the straight-lined, off-road-style aluminum elements. The new multifunction sports steering wheel is upholstered in leather on the GLB 200 and Nappa leather on the GLB 250 4MATIC. Additional connectivity includes an extra USB-C port, increased USB charging power, and illuminated USB ports.

Comfort seats in the GL B 200 are upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather, while the GLB 250 4MATIC features a combination of ARTICO man-made leather and MICROCUT microfibre. The GLB 200 comes with a Star-pattern trim, and the GLB 250 4MATIC has a Star Pattern backlit trim that interacts with ambient lighting. The Mercedes-Benz pattern illuminates the instrument panel in the passenger’s choice of color, creating a unique effect, especially at night. Ambient lighting with 64 colors and THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control enhance the interior atmosphere.

Safety features in the new GLB include Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning Assist, Active Brake Assist, and a Parking Package with a reverse camera. Additional features include the KEYLESS-GO Comfort package, EASY-PACK tailgate, and GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection.

Exclusive to the GLB 250 4MATIC is the 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a 48-volt electrical system with a belt-driven starter generator. This system provides an additional 10 kW of power for agile starts and faster acceleration, and also increases comfort with low-vibration, low-noise engine starts, and the ability to coast with the combustion engine switched off. The starter-generator also recuperates energy during braking and acceleration, supplying the 12-volt onboard network and the 48-volt battery with electrical energy.
