Tesla has inaugurated its first Supercharging station at Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan in Pahang, Malaysia. This new station not only serves local electric vehicle (EV) charging needs but also supports seamless interstate travel from Kuala Lumpur to the East Coast.The Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan Supercharging Station is equipped with four Superchargers, marking a milestone as the first of its kind in Pahang. This development is a significant step towards enhancing the accessibility and convenience of charging EVs in the region.

Tesla aims to provide a comprehensive ownership experience with its streamlined charging solutions and advanced technology integration. The Tesla charging experience is encapsulated by the phrase “Plug in, charge, and go.” Through the Tesla App, users can effortlessly locate, navigate to, and monitor the status of Superchargers, with automatic payment processing. The pay-per-use Supercharging fee is set at RM 1.25 per kWh, ensuring cost-efficient charging for Tesla owners.

Currently, Tesla operates 11 Supercharging stations (with a total of 52 chargers) and 11 Destination Charging stations (with 57 chargers) across Malaysia. Expansion efforts are ongoing to support travel between Malaysia and Singapore, which also hosts 11 Supercharging and 11 Destination Charging stations. Tesla is dedicated to enhancing its charging infrastructure in Malaysia to meet the rising demand for its charging solutions.

In response to the increasing popularity of the Tesla Model Y, the company has partnered with Maybank to introduce the “Approve & Drive” campaign. This program allows customers to purchase a Model Y and take delivery on the same day, with monthly payments starting from as low as RM 1,810 for an 84-month term. This offer is available for ready stock Model Y vehicles, with a delivery deadline of June 30, 2024.
