Tesla has just made a ground-breaking announcement, marking a significant leap in Southeast Asia’s electric vehicle infrastructure. The company revealed the inauguration of the region’s premier V4 Supercharging stations, simultaneously launched at two prominent locations: IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong. These stations boast a total of 8 V4 Superchargers and 2 Destination Chargers.
The V4 Superchargers, a pinnacle of charging technology, are outfitted with extended cables, ensuring convenient access for all Tesla electric vehicles. Currently supporting peak rates of up to 250kW per vehicle, these chargers are a game-changer. For instance, the Model 3 Long Range can recharge up to 282km in just 15 minutes, with the added promise of future updates and features.
Tesla’s mission extends beyond mere charging solutions; it aims to craft a seamless ownership experience through cutting-edge technology. Describing the Tesla charging experience as “plug and charge,” the company enables users to effortlessly manage their charging needs via the Tesla App. From checking availability to monitoring charge status, the app streamlines the entire process. Moreover, payments for Supercharging are seamlessly processed through the app, granting Tesla owners the freedom to travel without the hassle of manual transactions.
One of the most notable aspects of Tesla’s charging infrastructure is its cost-efficiency. With a pay-per-use Supercharging fee set at RM 1.25/kWh, Tesla’s solution emerges as one of the most economical options in the market.
Currently, Tesla has established 10 Supercharging stations (comprising 48 Superchargers) and 11 Destination Charging stations (housing 57 chargers) across Malaysia. Demonstrating a commitment to expanding the network, Tesla pledges to enhance coverage throughout the country continuously.
Excitingly, Tesla invites enthusiasts to experience its line-up first-hand. Both the Model 3 (starting from RM 181,000) and the Model Y (starting from RM 191,000) are available for test drives and orders across all Tesla locations. Interested customers can schedule appointments via the Tesla Malaysia hotline at 1800810655.
For those fascinated by Tesla’s futuristic offerings, the Cybertruck is now on display at the Tesla Pavilion Damansara Heights Experience Centre. Open to the public, this showcase allows visitors to marvel at the cutting-edge design of this electric vehicle.
