Tesla made a significant debut at the Malaysia Auto Show 2024, showcasing its latest Model 3 Performance and the eagerly awaited Cybertruck. These new releases, coupled with recent pricing adjustments, highlight Tesla’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of the electric vehicle (EV) industry and setting new benchmarks in automotive engineering.
The Model 3 Performance features an upgraded exterior, a refined interior, and a design focused on performance, allowing owners to break personal records. It boasts a new generation drive unit, an all-new adaptive damping system, and Track Mode, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, with a range of up to 528 km per charge (WLTP).
Tesla is also expanding its charging network in Malaysia to enhance the ownership experience. The company recently launched Southeast Asia’s first V4 Supercharging station at IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong. In less than a year since entering Malaysia, Tesla has established 10 Supercharging stations with 48 Superchargers and 11 Destination Charging stations with 57 Destination Chargers, demonstrating rapid growth in its charging infrastructure.
To make its vehicles more accessible, Tesla has recently adjusted the prices of the Model 3 and Model Y. With full import and excise duties exemptions and 100% road tax exemption, the Model 3 starts at RM 181,000 and the Model Y at RM 191,000. Additionally, customers can benefit from a financing option for the Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive, with interest rates as low as 0.78% and monthly payments starting at RM 1,808 over a 84-month term.
The much-anticipated Cybertruck Tour in Malaysia kicked off at the Malaysia Auto Show 2024, where the public can view the Cybertruck until May 26.
