Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently unveiled the latest addition to its lineup, the Mercedes-Benz C 350 e Plug-in Hybrid. Locally assembled in the Pekan production plant, this vehicle seamlessly combines electric power with traditional fuel for optimal efficiency. The new C350e will be priced at RM 338,888 (including 10% ST) for Peninsular Malaysia, inclusive of a 6-year / 100,000km high-voltage battery warranty (whichever comes first). Price is on the road, without insurance.
The Mercedes-Benz C350e Plug-in Hybrid is a masterpiece of performance, efficiency, and sustainability, boasting advanced powertrain specifications. Under its hood lies a 2.0L engine, generating 204 hp at 6,100 rpm, and a torque figure of 320 Nm between 2,000 to 4,000 rpm. This engine is complemented by an electric motor, producing 95 kW of power and 440 Nm of torque. Together, they achieve a total power output of 230 kW (313 hp) and a peak torque of 550 Nm. This new hybrid powertrain do come with an impressive electric range of up to 117 km (WLTP).
To power this electric motor, the C350e is powered by a high-voltage (HV) battery with 25.4 kWh energy content, the C 350 e offers substantial electric range for various journeys. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds and reaching a top speed of 245 km/h, it showcases agility and versatility. This battery is developed by Mercedes-Benz AG, it features 96 cells in a pouch configuration with an internal cooling system. This battery can be charged up with an 11 kW charger for convenient three-phase charging at a Wallbox, along with a mode 2 charging cable.
Externally, the C-Class exudes dynamism with its AMG Line styling, including the iconic Mercedes-Benz pattern grille, 18-inch AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels, and Night Package elements in high-gloss black. Interior highlights feature an AMG Line interior with metal structure trim, multifunction sports steering wheel, and ARTICO man-made leather upholstery.
Technological advancements include a high-resolution 12.3-inch LCD screen, 11.9-inch touchscreen central display, and the latest MBUX multimedia system for a digital and intelligent interior experience. Safety features like 360° camera, Blind Spot Assist, and Active Brake Assist ensure peace of mind on the road.
Driving the new C-Class is notably more electric, with an enhanced electric range and improved energy recovery function. The route-based operating strategy optimizes electric driving mode based on navigation data, topography, and traffic conditions, providing a seamless driving experience. With its haptic accelerator pedal module and ELECTRIC mode, the C 350 e offers intuitive control over driving modes, allowing for all-electric operation and additional torque when needed.
