BMW Malaysia has introduced the All-New BMW i5 M60 xDrive and the new locally assembled BMW 520i at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024, expanding their lineup of premium sporty sedans. Also featured at the event were the All-New BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport and the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 M Sport.
The BMW 5 Series, a cornerstone of the brand’s prestigious executive sedan segment, now includes two fully electric variants: the BMW i5 eDrive40 and the All-New BMW i5 M60 xDrive, along with the latest locally assembled BMW 520i. 
The All-New BMW i5 M60 xDrive blends modernity and performance, marked by its standout M performance kidney grille with the BMW Iconic Glow exterior package. The fully illuminated frame and sleek body lines project contemporary sophistication. Vertical LED strips in the headlights enhance visibility and create captivating daytime running lights. Exclusive M Sport Pro parts, such as the M rear spoiler and M Sport brakes, enhance its sporty appeal.
This model features 21-inch aerodynamic wheels from the BMW individual line and the signature Hofmeister kink for a coupé-like silhouette. Slender LED taillights complete its luxurious aesthetic, making it a true standout in its class.
Inside, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive offers the luxurious BMW Curved Display, a 12.3-inch instrument panel, and a 14.9-inch touchscreen Control Display for intuitive interaction. The Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System with 18 speakers and 655 Watts enhances the audio experience.
The BMW i5 M60 xDrive is powered by two electric motors driving all four wheels, delivering 442 kW/601 hp and a maximum torque of 795 Nm. This power propels the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h. The 83.9 kWh high-voltage battery ensures a range of up to 516 kilometers (WLTP).
The Adaptive M Suspension Professional enhances driving dynamics and comfort with new control logic and Active Roll Stabilization. The intelligent BMW Operating System 8.5, featuring the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and Digital Key Plus, optimizes connectivity and convenience.
The Driving Assistant Professional in the BMW i5 M60 xDrive includes advanced features such as Distance Control with Stop & Go, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and Automatic Speed Limit Assist. Safety is bolstered by Side Collision Protection, Road Priority Warning, and Emergency Lane Assistant.
The new BMW 520i, similar in design to the BMW i5, features a sleek and sporty exterior with 19-inch aerodynamic wheels. Its sophisticated interior includes a two-spoked steering wheel with integrated controls, a BMW Curved Display, and an innovative illuminated BMW Interaction Bar. 
Powered by the B48 4-cylinder engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, the BMW 520i generates 153 kW/208 hp and 330 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h. The mild hybrid system enhances efficiency and reduces emissions. 
The Driving Assistant Plus in the BMW 520i includes Active Cruise Control, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and Lane Departure Warning, ensuring a safer and more comfortable driving experience. 
Both models offer a range of exterior colors, including Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, and Phytonic Blue Metallic. The BMW i5 M60 xDrive features premium Leather Merino upholstery, while the BMW 520i offers Veganza Perforated options in Black and Espresso Brown. On the day of introduction, BMW Malaysia have not announced the official price for the BMW 520i and the i5 M60, but they estimated that the 520i will be priced at RM 340,000 and the i5 M60 will be priced at RM 480,000.
