Sunway Group, Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and ChargeHere EV Solution Sdn Bhd (“ChargeSini”) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and expand electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Sunway-owned premises, commercial buildings, and residences across Malaysia.
This partnership, formalized at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), aims to combine the strengths and expertise of the three companies to address range anxiety and enhance the EV charging infrastructure in the country.
ChargeSini, one of Malaysia’s leading EV charging solution providers, will oversee the procurement, installation, and management of EV charging stations in strategic locations within Sunway’s integrated townships and developments nationwide.
Huawei Malaysia will act as the technology advisor during the development phase and provide after-sales service support.
Yeoh Yuen Chee, CEO of Sunway Trading and Manufacturing, expressed pride in partnering with Huawei Malaysia and ChargeSini. He emphasized Sunway’s commitment to making EV charging stations more accessible, contributing to Malaysia’s national goal of establishing 10,000 EV charging stations by 2025 as outlined in the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) 2021-2030. Yeoh reiterated Sunway’s dedication to sustainable development and achieving net zero emissions by 2050, confident that this strategic partnership will foster a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
