Tesla has recently inaugurated its inaugural Supercharging station in Penang, Malaysia, located at Sunway Carnival, supplementing the existing 2 Destination Charging stations situated at The Ship Campus in Batu Kawan and All Seasons Place. This expansion aims not only to cater to local charging demands but also to facilitate seamless cross-country journeys for Tesla owners traveling from Singapore to Johor and Penang.

The newly operational Sunway Carnival Supercharging Station boasts 4 Superchargers, bringing Penang’s total count to 4 Superchargers and 12 Destination Chargers. This milestone signifies a significant leap forward in improving the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle charging across the region.

Tesla offers a holistic ownership experience by providing effortless charging solutions and seamless technology integration. Described as ‘Plug in, charge, and go,’ Tesla’s charging experience is streamlined for user convenience. Through the Tesla App, users can effortlessly locate, navigate to, and monitor the status of Superchargers, with payments processed automatically. With a pay-per-use Supercharging fee of RM 1.25/kWh, Tesla ensures cost-effective charging solutions for its users.

Presently, Tesla operates 8 Supercharging stations (40 chargers) and 10 Destination Charging stations (61 chargers) in Malaysia. Moreover, there are ongoing expansion plans aimed at facilitating travel between Malaysia and Singapore, where there are 11 Supercharging stations and 9 Destination Charging stations.
