Proton, Malaysia’s leading car manufacturer, unveiled its latest Hari Raya short film during a buka puasa event. Produced in collaboration with Elite Definition Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor for Little Joe Air Freshener in Malaysia, the 2024 edition promises to captivate audiences with its heartfelt storyline and notable cast.
This year’s Proton Hari Raya short film shines the spotlight on the Proton S70, the company’s beloved C-segment sedan, and highlights its exceptional after-sales service available at 3S/4S outlets. Clocking in at nearly 22 minutes, the film stars popular Malaysian actors Shaheizy Sam, Sharifah Amani, and Fauziah Ahmad Daud, directed by local talent Pekin Ibrahim.
Debuting in 2022, the first two editions of the Proton Hari Raya short film paid homage to themes cherished by Proton enthusiasts. The inaugural film drew inspiration from an old Proton Hari Raya jingle, while last year’s installment celebrated Sarjan Ismail Jaafar, credited with naming the Proton Saga, as the company marked its 40th anniversary.
In the 2024 edition, the storyline takes a broader approach, focusing on the significance of family time, sacrifices, and moments of loss during the Hari Raya celebration. Seamlessly woven into the narrative are subtle nods to the unique features of the Proton S70 and the top-notch amenities available at Proton’s 3S/4S service centers.
