WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA) recently invited the media to preview three different GAC models that will be coming to Malaysia soon. Among the three models, WTCA also announced that they will be opening the order books for the GAC GS3 EMZOOM SUV. This SUV is expected to be priced below RM 130,000, and customers just need to pay a RM 1,000 booking fee. The first 100 bookings will be invited to a private event held by WTCA.
The GS3 EMZOOM will be available in two different variants, Exclusive and Premium-R. This SUV will be locally assembled in Tan Chong Motor Assemblies plant (TCMA) in Segambut and will be available in Ivory White, Starlight Silver, Lake Blue, and Graphene Grey. For the GS3 EMZOOM, it will come with a Mecha Wing Grille, Laser Eye Split LED lights, Light Dart tail lights, split rear spoiler, electric door handles, and a crystal gear selector. 
The GS3 EMZOOM will be powered by a 1.5L TGDI engine, producing 177PS @5500rpm and 270Nm @ 1,400rpm. According to WTCA, this engine has a fuel consumption rating of 5.9l/100km. To provide more style and performance, GAC even equipped the car with a mid-mounted exhaust and a rear flat floor. Inside the GS3 EMZOOM, it will come with a dual-tone interior to give the cabin a more youthful appeal. 
Apart from the GS3 EMZOOM, GAC also previewed the GAC EMKOO and the GAC AION Y Plus. Starting with the EMKOO, it will come with a Borderless V-Shape Grille, “Eyes of Revelation” LED Headlamps, uniquely designed rear tail lights, and a sharp body belt line. The interior is also fully digital, with a semi-floating digital instrument cluster. 
As for the AION Y Plus, it will be GAC’s first electric vehicle under the brand. This vehicle is expected to reach Malaysian shores in the first half of 2024. It will be powered by a 63.2 kWh battery and a 150 kW electric motor. Based on WLTP testing, the AION Y Plus will have a range of 430 km. The AION Y Plus will come with unique Angel’s Wing headlights with seven horizontal light bars, seven trendy exterior colours, and a customizable and vibrant interior.

WTCA signed the GAC AION Distribution Agreement in January 2024, officially designating WTCA as Malaysia’s sole and exclusive distributor of GAC AION vehicles. This strategic move represents a significant step for WTCA towards the future of sustainable mobility.
