UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) concluded 2023 on a high note, reporting encouraging sales in December that continued a positive trend. The month witnessed a total of 10,402 units sold (Toyota + Lexus), comprised of 10,079 Toyota units and 323 Lexus units. This capped off a successful year with a total year-to-date sales figure of 108,107 units, marking a noteworthy 7% year-on-year increase from the cumulative sales in 2022, which stood at 101,035 units.

In addition to robust sales, UMWT recorded 1,342,130 returning customers for aftersales services in 2023, highlighting the company’s dedication to customer satisfaction and efficient automotive care.

In December, as part of the Toyota Eco Youth (TEY) 2023-2024 program, Datuk Ravindran K. visited SMK Dato’ Mohd Said in Nilai, a participating school excelling in its environmental project. The TEY program, an annual initiative organized by UMWT in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, involves teams of secondary students and a teacher advisor addressing environmental concerns within their communities. With 15 schools nationwide participating in the current edition, the program equips them with the Toyota 8 Steps Problem-Solving Methodology and a grant to kick-start their initiatives.

Datuk Ravindran K. stressed the commitment to community-oriented initiatives, such as the TEY program, aiming to inspire problem-solving efforts and contribute to a better future. Through TEY, the goal is to empower youth to be active contributors to a sustainable and innovative Malaysia.

In December, Toyota continued to facilitate consumer access to car ownership through the “Drive into the New Year with Toyota” promotion, offering up to a 100% loan for selected models. The promotion included substantial savings and attractive monthly purchase installment rates, reinforcing Toyota’s commitment to providing quality vehicles and service.
