Mercedes Benz Malaysia recently launched the updated Mercedes Benz GLA 200 SUV, serving as the entry point for the Mercedes Benz SUV family. The new GLA 200 comes with a range of enhancements that blend modern technology with everyday practicality, priced at RM 258,888.

The updated exterior of the GLA 200 features a new radiator grille with a central Mercedes-Benz star, a single louvre, and accents in black that enhance its powerful character. Additionally, the GLA 200 has a new hood with a power dome, a redesigned front bumper, a new diffuser on the rear bumper, and a silver underguard at the front apron.

In terms of lighting, the GLA boasts new LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist and redesigned LED taillights. The new GLA 200 is available in a new Spectral Blue metallic paint finish and is complemented by new 18-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, aerodynamically optimized, painted in tremolite grey with a high-sheen finish.

Inside the car, the 10.25-inch display continues to take center stage on the dashboard, featuring the latest MBUX system. The steering wheel has a new design with touch-control panels and is upholstered in leather. The comfort seats remain upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather in black, and the dashboard features the Star Pattern trim for added interior contrast.

In terms of safety, the GLA 200 comes standard with Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning Assist, and Active Brake Assist. The GLA is equipped with the Parking Package with a reverse camera, Mirror Package, DYNAMIC SELECT, KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package, and HANDS-FREE ACCESS.

The GLA 200 also steps up its safety assistance with Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning Assist to keep the driver alert while maneuvering in city streets and cruising along highways. The Active Brake Assist can help mitigate the consequences of a collision with other road users, avoiding collisions with moving or stationary vehicles in front. The new GLA comes with the Parking Package, reverse camera, Mirror Package, GUARD 360° Vehicle protection, TIREFIT, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Returning to the latest MBUX system, it features Navigation, Assistance, and Services modes, along with 64-color Ambient Lighting. The system now includes wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay for connectivity and five USB-C ports to keep everyone in the vehicle charged up.

The new GLA continues to be powered by the 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine combined with the 7G-DCT automatic transmission. It can achieve 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.9 seconds, thanks to 163 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm.
